Question about watermarking photos… when to and when not to?
I was in the park today and got some nice pictures of someone’s dog. They turned out well and I offered to email them to her. She jumped at the idea and gave me her email. When I got home and saw that some of the photos turned out really well, I realized that I don’t want them put on facebook or printed off with someone taking credit for them. I often watermark photos before I give them to my friends even though I feel awkward about it because I feel it is my right to get credit for my photography.
In this scenario, is is appropriate to watermark them before I send them to her, even though I offered to send her the photos?
I would watermark them. Legally you own them. If you want her to pay for them, you don’t have to charge a lot. But you have the right to protect your work.
