best & cheapest macro lens for nikon D60?
Hello,
I mainly do landscape photography but i am wanting to venture into macro photography. My current lens doesn’t let me do much with this so i am looking for a good macro lens.
I am aiming to take pictures of insects, water drops etc etc in crisp clear focus.
Could any of you help me?
I have no idea what to look for in a macro lens.
I want a good one (obviously) but at the cheapest price, any suggestions?
oh and i have a Nikon D60
Thanks in advance

like what others have mentioned, the Sigma 50mm f/2.8 macro is the cheapest: http://www.adorama.com/SG5028DNKAF.html
However, due to its very short focal length, it is not suitable for shooting insects as you will easily scare it away because you need to get very close. Shooting water droplets with this focal length will also mean you will splash your expensive lens and camera, something you would probably want to avoid. However, if you don’t shoot these things, the Sigma remains a great choice.
If you do, however, you would need a macro lens with a longer focal length, at least 90mm or more. The Tokina 100mm f/2.8 would be your cheapest option here: http://www.adorama.com/TN100PNKAF.html
Both the Sigma and Tokina will not af with your camera. However that is not as big of a deal as you may think because you would want to focus your macro pictures manually due to the thin depth of field. If you need autofocus, the price increases significantly.
