Has anyone taken pictures at the (A)merican (M)useum of (N)atural (H)istory in NYC?
I am trying out museum photography for the first time, and I was wondering what to expect at the AMNH.
~How much photography can be done, if any…
and what is the lighting like inside. If anyone has any experience with photographing within the museum could you please give some personal insight. Thanks!
The museum website states: “Except where noted, photography for personal use is allowed with hand-held cameras and with available light or electronic flash attachments. Tripods and lights may not be used. Reproduction or sale of photographs is not allowed without Museum permission. No flash photography is permitted in the Space Theater or in the IMAX® Theater.”
Just be polite and don’t ask people to move out of your way just so you can take a photo. Allow people who are there to look at the museum exhibits to do so without interruption.
