What is a good beginner’s camera that also shoots video?

I want to start learning about photography. I’m already into making movies, and I was hoping there was a camera that was good for a beginner photographer that also took decent quality video.

Does anybody have any suggestions?

Do you want Digital SLR camera or point & shoot camera.
If you want Digital SLR camera. Nikon D5000 or Canon T1i are good choice.
