What is currently the best option for shooting infrared photography?

I currently have an olympus pen (e-pl1), but am not about to bust out the hot mirror. So are there any moderately priced digital cameras out there that I could just slap an r72 filter on? Or would I be better off shooting ir film? I’m looking for the best option with the best price. It would just be for the occasional trip to the haunted cemetery, that’s all.

You can (hopefully) fins an IR filter that screws on the front of the lens. Your filter size is a circle with a line through it on the front of the lens. Likely 58mm or 55mm, something like that. But these are expensive and put that camera on a tripod, press the button and wait for maybe a half hour to take one picture (long exposure/slow shutter speed). It’s not a very fun way to go.

The second option is to have the camera converted permanent to infrared. But it’s – - – Permanent, costs $400 and they only do it Canon and Nikon DSLRs

So I don’t know what to tell you. You’re only choice it to shell out$70 for a filter and deal with the crazy long exposures.
