Question on photography law?

I have read the photographers right document floating around on the internet.

My question is different. I live in a dorm which also has a chapel. When I open my window, I see brides walking by. So I took pics of weddings but not for commercial use. However, I did upload them on my photography portfolio. According to the “Photographers Right”, the chapel management can restrict photography on the campus (= chapel + dorm) but they don’t have the right to enter my room.

Now all the photos were shot from my room window – so can they ask me remove photos from my photography portfolio ?

What is to stop me from shooting and uploading it next year when I have graduated ?

There’s another issue to this problem. I assume your portfolio is online since you said you ‘upload’ them on your portfolio. Since you are taking photos of people you cannot publish the photo in a portfolio, online, in a magazine or anywhere where others can see (other than your own home). That only applies if the person or people are recognizeable or if you have a signed model release form from each recognizeable person in the photo or photos.

Yes, management can restrict anyone from taking photos. Unless it is public domain (property). Your not supposed to take photos anywhere on campus if managment restricts it. But who’s to say you took photos if you are doing it in your dorm room. They have no proof, but i’de be careful with that.
