Canon flashlight + engagement photography ?

I own a Canon500D.. im only 17 and have a passion for photography
my cousin has asked me to take some snaps at their engagement

Any tips for engagement photography
and also… is it worth investing in a flashlight/gun?

Where did you hear the term “flashlight” to describe an external electronic flash unit?

In photography, clarity is a must. Take your time and learn the proper terms for processes, equipment and techniques.

The on-board flash is good enough for shooting events like what you describe. If you were doing this for a living, then of course you would need a good high powered external flash and a diffuser of some type. I use Gary Fong diffusers on my electronic flash units.

Tips:

Cover the event as you would any other one. Just make sure that you have the cameras batteries fully charged before you attend the even … a handful of memory cards and of course a plan (team up with your cousin and see what they want specifically)

Remember to set the white balance and ISO to match the lighting that will be provided at the venue
